Introduction
God uses ordinary people to achieve His purpose many times in the bible. 1Corinthians 1:27
Ruth is a remarkable woman in the Bible, a survival who went from deep loss to becoming a great-grand mother of King David and Jesus. The story of Ruth can be cited, a humble woman who was Israel’s redemption. The salvation that Ruth brought, shows that loyalty and obedience to God’s will determine a person’s place in God.
Our place in God is not determined by blood, birth or age but by faithfulness and obedience to the will of God.
Ruth was a woman with strong determination, unwavering-faith, humble, kind-hearted, resilience, full of love, hardworking and resourceful, compassionate to mention but a few. Her story was included in the Bible because it symbolized moral purity, strong faith, and worthy life. If the Bible were to be written again will your name be mentioned?
As believers in this dispensation, what lessons can we learn from the story of Ruth [Ruth 1:8-18] with respect to what God wants for us.
- Ruth was selfless: Many people who became very significant in Bible times were selfless people. i.e Esther, David etc Ruth never considered herself, she was a young widow and could still find another man that would have married her like her sister in-law orpah, but she choose rather to follow an old woman whom may even become a liability to her forever. She gave up her own self and insisted to follow and serve the God of Naomi. This one decision lunched her into an eternal excellency.
- Ruth was Obedient: She was meek and had a teachable spirit. As long as she was under the mentorship of Naomi, she obeyed every instruction that was giving to her and so her obedience paved a way for her to enter in a rest prepared for her by God
- Ruth was dedicated and committed: she whole heartedly followed God and served her mother in-law.
Ruth’s dedication is worthy of emulsion and tells us that God rewards faithfulness.
Now in this dispensation, what does God demands from us?
- God wants us to rise up as a gate keeper of our families, communities and nations at large. Just as the Almighty God is interested in the family so is the devil. As a gate keeper, what you allowed comes in and dwell with you either good or bad, and what you don’t allow never comes in
- God wants us to arise as a Saviors and make use of every giving opportunity we have to save the kingdom.(God) .
- God want us arise as an intercessors. By faith the woman receives the dead back the life. Hebrews 11:35
The prayer of a woman is powerful and full of faith that delivers speedy answers.
